Our regular General Membership monthly business meeting was held at the
home/shop of Mike Rietveld at 7:30pm . Russell Christmas, President, opened the meeting at 7:50 p.m . Attendees (Russell Christmas, Mike Rietveld , Roy Millsaps , John Herald, Curt Johnson, Tom Trahan, and Bill Morgan).

Opening/ Old Business:
1. Secretary's Report was read and approved.
3. Treasurer's Report was read and approved, with $592.86 in account. The
President reported that an Audit was conduct of the financial records on
February 4th, 2007 . No discrepancies were noted.
5. Raffle/Festival Committee and VP report: The next Festival is the
Crawfish Festival in Woodbine , Georgia on Friday and Saturday, April 27th
and 28th. Application and payment will be made by John Herald for this
festival. Items to be raffled will be present at the March meeting for
approval. John Herald will have the schedule for the festival for members
to sign up for demonstrations and to assign responsibility for the
festival.
6. Turners' meeting report: Mike Rietveld reported there has been good
turnout for meetings and hands-on work projects are on-going. Beginning
with the new year we will again be offering beginning techniques
instruction. (For any new members who attend our meetings, we will provide
instruction and safety precautions commensurate with their abilities).
7. Website: Curt Johnson reported that our Guild website is in links of
other websites. Members may upload pictures to the Web Site and training
will be conducted at the March meeting at Curt Johnson's home.
8. Roy Millsaps reported that the Marquetry is going well. Roy requests
that members provide him with a list of classes they will conduct along with
dates/times so he can publish and update the master class schedule.
9. "Christmas" projects were discussed for the children's toys as gifts
program we had great success with this past year's program and enjoyed
working together. Roy Millsaps reported that we need cut offs from members and possibly Woodcraft to make toys this year. We plan on conducting five sessions to make toys for this year.
New Business:
1. Chuck Fulton from Camden House presented a slideshow of projects he
needs volunteers to complete to open Camden House. Priorities included
installing hand rails, molding, pantry shelves, and building wardrobe
cabinets for clothes for each room. A discussion followed concerning each
project the Guild would undertake. Mike Rietveld brought up a liability
issue for installing hand rails and pantry shelves. A vote was taken with
the following results.
a. Installing hand rails - the members voted not to undertake
this project.
b. Building and installing pantry cabinets - the members
voted not to undertake this project.
c. installing molding - the members voted not to undertake
this project due to the fact that Camden House had this project well in hand.
d. Building pantry cabinets - this project was tabled until
the next meeting pending receipt of plans for a standard size for the cabinets
from Chuck Fulton.
2. All members are to turn in their class schedules at the next meeting.
Show and Tell:
a. Curt Johnson presented his feather board he built from plan in a
Woodworkers Magazine and volunteered to produce to members.
b. Russell Christmas demonstrated and presented his table saw sled to
make pieces for bowls.
