7.  Library:  We have received some books and magazines from the American Association of WoodTurners (AAW) which are being setup at Mike Rietveld’s shop for member’s use.

8.  Guild Website:  Curt Johnson discussed the Guild website, and improvements to the password ID  and “members only” section.  He would like biographical input from members, with pictures, and possibly have a “featured member” area.  Curt is also working on membership cards, and meeting notification postcards.

New Business:

1.  A Guild committee meeting was held on Aug. 7th which went over the Raffle Tickets and some procedures.  It was mentioned that the price of the raffle tickets could be discounted per quantity purchase, and voting on it would be conducted at the August general membership business meeting.  At the meeting on the 14th, it was voted to sell the Raffle Tickets at “1 for $1.00/ 6 for $5.00”.  The items for Raffle were discussed, for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd .   Also discussed was “pre-selling” Raffle Tickets by members, and approved .

2.  Discussion of e-mails received through the Guild website:

     a)  The lady from Atlanta requesting bookcases be made by us in memory of her deceased husband—discussed and decided we could not accomplish her request.

     b)  Demos by “celebrity” woodworkers to be brought in—at this time it would be too expensive for the requested person.

3.  Discussion of “Not-For-Profit” eligibility and status—we need to be aware of the fees involved and strive to meet the minimum time requirements as a prerequisite first.

4.  Projects:  Christmas project under the supervision of Roy Millsaps—he is working on keepsake boxes and has had excellent help on it from Greg Norris.  He is offering classes on it to also teach.  Anyone else who may have more ideas for Christmas or other projects, please let us know.
